Alexei, Last Romanov Heir.

Here are some images of the ill fated heir to Tsar Nikolai II of Russia Alexei Nokolaevich Romanov he was just thirteen years old when he and his family were murdered in 1918.

Alexei Romanov and friend - don't know if this was an actual pet of his.  That dog could've easily nipped or scratched Alexei, causing life threatening bleeding.  That his parents let him play with animals and even have pets of his own is a testimony to their determination to give Alexei a normal life despite his grave condition.:

Alexei with his spaniel Joy.  Joy was spared the execution of his master and was later rescued by soldiers of the White army.  He was eventually taken to England.:
