Agrippa Coin


A coin depicting the head and face of Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa a influential Roman statesman, General and architect between the years 45 BC and 12 BC.

He was a close friend of Emperor Augustus and even became his  son-in-law when Marcus married as his third wife Augustus daughter Julia the Elder.

He  was the father of Agrippina the Elder who would marry Germanicus and was the mother of both Caligula a tyrannical Roman Emperor and Agrippina the younger mother of another Emperor Nero she was also the wife of Emperor Claudius.

Marcus died in 12 BC in Campania now in modern day Naples he was around fifty years old and in his time had married three times and fathered around eight children.
