Playtime with Mother.

Love this one, Princess Mary of Teck, here she is the Duchess of York.after her marriage to George, Duke of York future King George V, and her son Albert the future King George VI and father of Queen Elizabeth II, this picture taken in about 1900 shows a rare side to the Mother, stern and unemotional many claim and yes she could be but she was dependable and loyal when her eldest son abdicated the throne in 1936 and Albert was named as his replacement it is said he cried on her shoulder for hours, suffering from a stammer that made him extremely nervous he dreaded his role as monarch that would force him to make speeches to large crowds, Mary outlived her second son dying two years after him in 1953.
