Last time for Cousins

This picture taken in 1916 shows the two cousins King George V of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and Tsar Nikolai II of Russia, this was the last picture ever taken of the close cousins and the very last time they would meet, George had every opportunity to save the Tsar and his family but fearing unrest in his own land decided against it he didn’t do this from malice he genuinely believed the family would live, there is no doubt when he heard of their disappearance and probable murder he was devastated I often wonder whether the great similarity between the cousins became something of a burden was he reminded every time he looked at himself in the mirror.
