Larking around.

This rather unusual picture shows four royal princes messing around starting at the top we have Prince Albert of Saxe-Altenburg (1843-1902), after the death of his first wife 1888, he remarried to Duchess Helene von Mecklenburg-Strelitz the only daughter of Grand Duchess Catherine Mikhailovna Romanovna, then Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich Romanov (1847-1909), he was the son of Emperor Alexander II of Russia, next in line then we have Alexander Alexandrovich Romanov (1845-1894), later he would rule as Alexander III of Russia and then finally we have Prince Nikolai Maximilianovich (1843-1891), 4th Duke of Leuchtenberg the son of Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna Romanovna daughter of Emperor Nikolai I of Russia and her husband Maximilian de Beauharnais, Duke of Leuchtenberg a son of Eugene death Beauharnais the step son of Napoleon, Emperor of the French.

There isn’t a certain date for the picture but it was before 1881 as Alexander hasn’t yet ascended to the throne.
